About Us

Vision:

Children are our future. We are dedicated to their success.

Mission:

To achieve our vision, we will prepare our students to become independent learners with the desires, the skills, and the abilities necessary for an ever-changing world. This will require creating a learning environment which is centered on students, directed by teachers, and supported by home and community.

Mesquite Elementary School, part of the Crane Elementary School District in Yuma, Arizona, proudly serves students in Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade. At Mesquite, we believe school should be a place where students feel safe, welcomed, and excited to learn each day. Our campus is a place where children grow academically, socially, and emotionally while building confidence and curiosity about the world around them.

As a full PreK–6 campus, Mesquite gives students the opportunity to build lasting relationships with teachers and classmates as they grow through each stage of their education. Our caring and dedicated staff works hard to create engaging, supportive learning experiences that help every student thrive and prepare for the future.

Learning at Mesquite is active, collaborative, and fun! Our teachers use engaging strategies such as Kagan Cooperative Learning, hands-on projects, student-led activities, and technology integration to keep students excited about learning. All Mesquite teachers are also Apple Educators, which means they are trained to use technology in creative and meaningful ways that encourage student creativity, collaboration, and deeper thinking.

Students also enjoy a variety of special area classes, including art, music, and physical education. Each week, students visit the library where they can check out books, discover new stories, and learn important social skills during library lessons.

Beyond the classroom, students have opportunities to explore their interests through enrichment activities and after-school programs. Our 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program offers additional academic support and exciting enrichment opportunities that extend learning beyond the school day.

At Mesquite Elementary, we are proud to create a vibrant learning community where students are encouraged to explore, grow, and shine every day. 🌟
